Procedure
Microneedling Mesotherapy in Cyprus
A skin treatment in which fine sterile needles create controlled micro-injuries in the surface of the skin, prompting the body's own collagen and elastin response. Used for skin texture, fine lines, acne scarring and pigmentation.

Overview
Microneedling mesotherapy uses a device with fine, sterile needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the surface of the skin. Those micro-injuries prompt the body’s natural healing response, including the production of collagen and elastin — the proteins that carry skin elasticity and firmness.
It is used for acne scarring, fine lines, uneven texture and hyperpigmentation. It is not a substitute for surgery where volume loss or skin laxity is the problem, and we will say so at consultation rather than sell a course of treatment that cannot do what is being asked of it.
What it is used for
- Skin texture and general rejuvenation, by stimulating collagen production
- Firmness of loose skin
- Acne scarring and enlarged pores
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Uneven skin tone and hyperpigmentation
- Absorption of topical preparations, which pass more readily through the microchannels created during treatment
The device
The treatment is performed with the Alma Beauty Reboost, a fractional vibrating microneedling device. Fine stainless steel needles perforate the skin, and the device then applies acoustic vibration during the application of topical preparations such as hyaluronic acid, vitamins and amino acids.
The device can be used across a range of skin types and year round. It can be applied to the face, neck, hands and back.
The session
A numbing cream is applied before treatment. The device is then moved across the skin, creating channels that are not visible to the naked eye. A session takes 30 minutes to an hour depending on the area treated.
Afterwards
Mild redness and swelling are usual and generally settle within a few days. Results are not immediate — collagen remodelling and new tissue formation take time, and improvement in texture and fine lines is noticed over the weeks and months that follow. More than one session is usually needed.
Aftercare is straightforward:
- Keep well hydrated
- Avoid direct sun for several days, and use a high-SPF sunscreen when outdoors
- Cleanse with a mild, non-abrasive cleanser
- Leave makeup off for the first 24 hours, so the microchannels are not occluded
- Avoid hot baths, saunas and anything that causes heavy sweating for a few days
- Moisturise with a gentle, hydrating preparation
Risks and considerations
Microneedling is generally well tolerated when performed with sterile equipment by trained staff. Redness and swelling immediately after the procedure are usual and typically settle within a few days, and some patients report mild discomfort during or after treatment. Infection and scarring are described as rare. Following the aftercare instructions and avoiding sun exposure reduces the likelihood of these effects. Suitability is assessed individually, taking skin type, existing skin conditions and medical history into account.
Questions patients ask
Is microneedling treatment painful?
Discomfort is minimal for most patients. A topical numbing cream is applied to the treatment area beforehand. Some patients describe a slight pricking or tingling sensation during the session, which is generally manageable.
How frequently should microneedling be repeated?
A series of sessions is usual, typically spaced four to six weeks apart, which allows time for the skin to heal and for collagen production to take effect. After an initial series, maintenance sessions may be scheduled every few months depending on the response.
Is it suitable for all skin types?
It can be used across a range of skin types, but suitability is assessed beforehand rather than assumed. Skin type, the concern being treated and medical history all bear on whether the treatment is appropriate, and darker skin carries a higher risk of pigment change after treatment.
Is there a best age for this treatment?
Suitability does not depend on age. It is used for fine lines, wrinkles, acne scarring and skin texture, so it is more often requested from the thirties onwards, but it is equally appropriate for younger patients with a specific concern such as scarring.

How we quote
A quotation follows consultation, because what it costs depends on what the operation actually involves for you — the technique, the time in theatre, and whether anything is being addressed at the same time. We do not publish price lists and we do not quote before examining you.
