Plastic Surgery has two principal sub-specialties: Cosmetic surgery and Reconstructive surgery.

Cosmetic surgery involves procedures and techniques focused on enhancing our cosmetic appearance. All head, neck, and body areas can undergo aesthetic surgery to boost the patient’s look and confidence. Some of the key objectives of plastic surgery are symmetry, aesthetic appeal and proportion. Breast augmentation, breast lift, liposuction, rhinoplasty and face lift are popular cosmetic surgery procedures. Cosmetic skin surgery is also on the rise, such as facial fillers, lip enhancement and facial wrinkles treatment.

Reconstructive surgery restores normal function and appearance. It also helps repair deformities caused by trauma, birth disorders or medical conditions such as cancer. A typical example of reconstructive plastic surgery is skin surgery in the case of skin cancer. Reconstructive surgery is the basis of surgical training, but many plastic surgeons choose to complete additional training to perform cosmetic surgery. Reconstructive surgery is medically necessary and covered by most health insurance plans.

Specialized in Breast Augmentation & Facial Rejuvenation

Dr. Demetris Stavrou, MD, PhD, has gained a stellar reputation for performing breast and body procedures to excellence, exceeding his patients’ expectations. He specializes in breast augmentation, breast reduction, breast reconstruction, canthoplasty, upper and lower blepharoplasty, fat injections, rhinoplasty and other types of plastic surgery for the body, face and skin.

A list of our cutting-edge Breast Procedures:

  • Breast Augmentation

We perform Breast Augmentation surgeries using innovative 6th generation implants with advanced properties. Our top priority is to ensure patient’s safety. Combining a suite of surgical tools and techniques, Dr. Stavrou performs the surgery with his 2,5 cm signature incision, ensuring minimal scarring and optimal cosmetic results.

  • Hybrid Breast Augmentation

Implant augmentation combined with fat grafting helps achieve a dramatic cup size increase. In addition, lipo-filling helps camouflage contour irregularities and deformities and covers the soft tissue efficiently.

  • Breast Reconstruction

Breast reconstruction involves reshaping the breast after its removal due to a mastectomy or other trauma or injury. We use new medical techniques and devices to recreate the breast mound. Natural skin and tissue combined with breast implants or fat transfer ensure optimal results. The goal is to create a breast that can come close in form and appearance to match a natural breast.

  • Breast Reduction

Overly large breasts can cause some women emotional and physical problems. Also, the weight of excess breast tissue can impair your ability to lead an active life. Also known as reduction mammaplasty, this procedure removes excess breast fat, glandular tissue and skin to achieve a more proportional breast size and ease discomfort.

  • Breast Revision

Revision breast surgery, including breast implant exchange, can correct bothersome aspects of your initial breast enhancement procedure. Our ultimate goal is to restore your self-confidence. Breast revision procedure helps:

  • Replace ruptured breast implants or older-generation implants
  • Correct capsular contracture
  • Lift breast implants that have migrated downwards
  • Restore fullness in the upper area of the breasts
  • Correct the positioning of breast implants, including symmastia
  • Improve implant rippling
  • Correct breast asymmetry
  • Gynecomastia (Male Breast Reduction)

Men or adolescent boys with overdeveloped breasts often endure emotional and psychological trauma. When actual breast tissue is present, surgical removal of the glandular tissue is necessary. Liposuction can also help when excess fat is the main culprit of the enlarged breasts. With either surgical approach (or a combination of both), the surrounding chest area is sculpted so that men can enjoy a more masculine-looking chest.

  • Nipple Reconstruction

Nipple reconstruction is performed to improve aesthetics (size, shape and projection). It can also be a part of breast reconstruction. In this case, the nipples can be recreated through a combination of carefully arranged flaps. Alternatively, skin from the opposite nipple with similar texture and color may be used for a grafting procedure.

  • Mastopexy

Often, the breasts lose volume and elasticity after pregnancy or through the natural aging process. By lifting and reshaping your breasts, a mastopexy procedure can correct ptosis and sagginess. As a result, the breasts appear tighter, firmer and more youthful.

  • Augmentation Mastopexy

Implants can restore lost breast volume, but they cannot defy gravity. If a moderate/severe amount of sagging exists, adding an implant is unlikely to produce an aesthetically pleasing outcome. A breast lift can correct sagging and raise the nipple. Combining the two procedures can ensure that any breast size increase looks natural with your proportions and is aesthetically pleasing in and out of clothing.

  • Implant Removal

Women choose to have their implants removed because of personal preference or medical complications. Using a breast implant removal technique called ‘en bloc removal’, both the implant and the capsule are removed as one.

It is often necessary to perform a breast lift at the same time, depending on the severity of sagginess and nipple position. After some time, breasts eventually return to their pre-augmentation state.

A list of our radical Facial Rejuvenation Procedures:

  • Upper Blepharoplasty

If you feel that your eyes are making you look tired, sad, or older than you really feel, cosmetic upper eyelid surgery may be the right choice for you. It removes the excess skin and fat that hides the natural fold of the upper eyelids. The incision follows the natural contour of the upper eyelid, so it will be well-concealed once it heals.

  • Lower Blepharoplasty

Lower eyelid surgery can minimize bags under the eyes along with dark circles. It tightens the lower eyelid skin and improves the fine wrinkles. The result is a more alert and rested appearance. The incision is hidden below the lower lashes, well camouflaged by natural creases.

  • Brow Lift

A heavy or wrinkled brow can make you look tired, frustrated or angry, even when you’re well-rested and content. A brow lift is the only way to dramatically tighten and lift the droopy tissues of the forehead. Horizontal wrinkles in the forehead are smoothed out as well. Incisions are hidden in the hairline.

  • Facial Fat Transfer

We harvest your own fat from a troubled area and inject it strategically to smoothen the deep facial lines and wrinkles. This procedure improves the hollow appearance from the loss of volume and enhances the lips, chin, or cheeks by adding more contour to the face.

  • Rhinoplasty

You should consider nose job surgery if you are unhappy with the following:

  • Shape, size or projection of your nose
  • Your nose is too large, too small or not in proportion to the rest of your face
  • You have breathing problems resulting from irregularities inside your nose
  • You have a nasal hump or a nasal tip that is drooping, too elevated or wide.

There are two main techniques for making the incisions: open rhinoplasty and closed rhinoplasty.

For an open rhinoplasty, the incisions are made outside the nose. A small access incision on the underside of the nose between the nostrils connects with other incisions hidden inside the nose.

The open rhinoplasty approach fully opens the nose, providing better visualization of the nasal structures and a more direct route for surgical manipulation. The small scar at the base of the nose is barely visible once it heals.

For a closed rhinoplasty, the incisions are made inside the nasal passages. Incisions are hidden.

The closed rhinoplasty approach permits more limited dissection of nasal tissues. It offers excellent visualization of nasal structures, with no visible scar at the base of the nose.

By adding or removing bone and cartilage and adjusting the supporting structures inside the nose, the size of your nose can be reduced or increased. The nose may be shortened or lengthened.

Tip grafts made of cartilage can be used to remodel the tip of your nose, making it more uplifted, longer, shorter, or thinner. Your skin and other soft tissues will remodel to assume the shape of the underlying structure.

You may wear a splint after surgery which can usually come off about a week after your operation. You will need to wait for 4-6 weeks before you can engage in exercise or athletics.

Be prepared for it to take several months before your nose completely settles into its new shape. The results of rhinoplasty are permanent.

  • Chin Enhancement

Chin enhancement surgery (genioplasty) improves contours of the chin, neck and jawline. An implant is placed around the existing chin bone to augment the size and shape of the chin. The procedure creates a more naturally attractive balance between facial features.

When inserted, chin implants feel very similar to a natural chin bone.

Chin implants are very strong, durable medical devices intended to be permanent.  While the aging process will affect your facial appearance in other ways, your enhanced chin contour will not change.

Patients can go back to work and other daily activities within 7 days after surgery.

  • Facelift

Facelift, also known as rhytidectomy, improves the signs of aging on the face and neck by repositioning loose skin.

The procedure aims to give a more youthful facial appearance, avoiding an ‘over-stretched’ skin look. The rejuvenation results appear in the mid face area, the cheeks, the lower jawline and the neck. Incisions are hidden around and behind the ears and inside the hairline.

Facelift plastic procedures are performed under general anesthesia. We recommend at least one overnight stay at the clinic after surgery. Light activity can begin on the first day and full recovery within 6-8 weeks post-op. Skincare and sun protection are essential during recovery.

The results are long lasting with an appearance looking at least 10 years younger. Natural aging will still occur, but proper skin care and non-surgical treatments can lengthen the results.
