1. What is stored in your browser

Three items. The first records your answer; the second exists only if that answer was yes; the third only if you use the before-and-after galleries.

The site's host, Cloudflare, records technical information in its server logs in order to deliver pages and defend against attacks, and counts page views with a cookieless beacon of its own that sets nothing in your browser and identifies no visitor. Any cookie Cloudflare sets for security is strictly necessary.

2. Google Analytics

Google Analytics tells the practice how many people visit, which pages they read, which country and language they come from, and whether a visit ends in an enquiry, a call, a WhatsApp message or a booking. It is used to decide what the site should explain better. It is not used for advertising.

When it loads. Never on first load. The bar at the foot of the page asks first; the Google script is added to the page only after you press Accept, and on later visits only while your answer stands. If you press Reject, ignore the bar or close it, nothing from Google loads.

What is switched off. Google Signals, cross-device reporting, advertising personalisation and every advertising consent flag are off, and are declared off to Google before its script runs. No advertising audience is built from this site and nothing is shared with Google's advertising products.

What is measured. Pages viewed, the approximate location and language of the browser, the device type, and five actions: an enquiry sent, a phone number pressed, the WhatsApp link pressed, the booking link pressed and the virtual consultation link pressed. The enquiry event records that an enquiry was sent and nothing else — no field of the form travels with it. Your IP address is used by Google to derive an approximate location and is not stored.

Who processes it. Google Ireland Limited, as the practice's processor under Google's data processing terms for Google Analytics. Google may process the data on servers outside the European Economic Area under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and the standard contractual clauses. Event-level data is kept by Google for fourteen months and then deleted.

Changing your mind. "Cookie settings" in the footer of every page reopens the bar. Rejecting after an earlier acceptance stops measurement at once and deletes the two Google cookies from your browser.

3. Why the imagery gate is not a cookie

Before-and-after photographs are not shown until you ask to see them. When you do, that choice has to be remembered for the rest of your visit, otherwise the notice appears again on every gallery and the gate becomes an obstacle rather than a protection.

The choice is stored in your browser's session storage rather than in a cookie. It is never sent to a server, it is not readable by anyone else, it identifies nobody, and it is deleted when you close the tab. Storage used solely to provide a feature you explicitly requested is strictly necessary, and prior consent is not required for it.

4. The enquiry form

The enquiry form sets no cookie and stores nothing in your browser. What you write goes to the practice and nowhere else; if you have accepted analytics, the fact that an enquiry was sent is counted, and its content is not. How your message is handled after that is set out in the privacy policy.

5. Controlling what is stored

"Cookie settings" in the footer changes your answer to the cookie question at any time. Every browser can also block or clear cookies and site data from its settings; clearing site data for this domain removes all three items described in section 1, and the bar will ask again on your next visit. Blocking storage entirely does not stop the site working; the galleries simply stay closed until you open them again.
