Βιογραφικό

Δρ. Δημήτρης Σταύρου, Ειδικός Πλαστικός Χειρουργός και ιδρυτής του EIPS.

Ο Δρ. Δημήτρης Σταύρου γεννήθηκε στη Λευκωσία της Κύπρου. Μεγάλωσε σε οικογένεια ιατρών και κατανόησε από νωρίς τη σχέση μεταξύ ιατρού και ασθενούς. Αποφοίτησε από την Ιατρική Σχολή του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών και ολοκλήρωσε την ειδικότητά του στην πλαστική χειρουργική στο Chaim Sheba Medical Center στο Tel-Hashomer του Ισραήλ.

Εκεί εκπαιδεύτηκε στην αισθητική και επανορθωτική πλαστική χειρουργική και συνέχισε με εξειδίκευση (fellowship) στην Προηγμένη Αισθητική Χειρουργική στο Melbourne Institute of Plastic Surgery.

Το ενδιαφέρον του για την αποκατάσταση του μαστού μετά από καρκίνο του μαστού, καθώς και για τις αισθητικές επεμβάσεις μετά από επεμβάσεις απώλειας βάρους, ήταν εμφανές από την αρχή της σταδιοδρομίας του. Έχει επίσης εκπαιδευτεί σε εξειδικευμένες τεχνικές για τη ρυτιδεκτομή, την αποκατάσταση εγκαυμάτων και τη χειρουργική του καρκίνου του δέρματος.

Συνεργάζεται με ιατρικά κέντρα στο εξωτερικό ως επισκέπτης χειρουργός και διατηρεί σταθερό ενδιαφέρον για την έρευνα, με σειρά δημοσιευμένων επιστημονικών άρθρων.

Από το 2012 κατέχει τη θέση του Επίκουρου Καθηγητή στο St George's, University of London και στην Ιατρική Σχολή του Πανεπιστημίου Λευκωσίας. Είναι Επίτιμος Εκπαιδευτής (Honorary Tutor) στην Ιατρική Σχολή του University of Cardiff στο Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο, μέλος του European Board of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (EBOPRAS) και διεθνές μέλος της American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS).

Ο Δρ. Σταύρου ασκεί την πλαστική χειρουργική από το 2012.
