Βιογραφικό

Δρ. Θεοδώρα Παπαβασιλείου, Ειδικός Πλαστικός Χειρουργός.

Η Δρ. Θεοδώρα Παπαβασιλείου γεννήθηκε στην Κύπρο. Από νεαρή ηλικία έδειξε έντονο ενδιαφέρον για τις επιστήμες και πάθος για την καινοτομία στην ιατρική. Αποφοίτησε από την Ιατρική Σχολή του Εθνικού και Καποδιστριακού Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών και ακολούθησε την εκπαίδευση της ειδικότητάς της στο Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο, στην πλαστική, επανορθωτική και αισθητική χειρουργική.

Η μεταπτυχιακή της εκπαίδευση την οδήγησε στα Oxford University Hospitals, στο St Thomas' Hospital, στο Chelsea and Westminster και στο Great Ormond Street Hospital. Μέσα από αυτήν ανέπτυξε δεξιότητες στη χειρουργική χειρός, τη μικροχειρουργική, την παιδιατρική επανορθωτική χειρουργική και τη διαχείριση τραύματος. Αργότερα ολοκλήρωσε εξειδίκευση (fellowship) στη χειρουργική χειρός στο St Thomas' Hospital στο Λονδίνο.

Η Δρ. Παπαβασιλείου είναι αφοσιωμένη στην εκπαίδευση και την καινοτομία. Διετέλεσε Clinical Education Lead στην Πλαστική Χειρουργική για τους φοιτητές ιατρικής του Oxford University και εξετάστρια για το King's College London. Είναι επίσης συνιδρύτρια και CEO της Stelth Instruments, μιας εταιρείας με έδρα την Κύπρο που αναπτύσσει εργαλεία εκτυπωμένα σε 3D και μοντέλα προσομοίωσης για τη χειρουργική εκπαίδευση.

Με περισσότερες από είκοσι επιστημονικές δημοσιεύσεις, διεθνή βραβεία και μια ευρεσιτεχνία σε χειρουργικά εργαλεία, συνεχίζει να συνεισφέρει στη χειρουργική εκπαίδευση και πράξη.
