Dr. Demetris Stavrou, MD, PhD, leads the European Institute of Plastic Surgery. He was born in Nicosia, Cyprus. He grew up in a family of doctors and soon understood the unique relationship between doctor and patient. He graduated from the <\/span>University of Athens Medical School<\/b> and finished his residency in Plastic Surgery at the <\/span>Chaim Sheba Medical Center at Tel-Hashomer, Israel<\/b>. There, he received expert training in the latest techniques of cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery from some of the world\u2019s top Medical Scientists. He continued his training with a fellowship in \u201cAdvanced Aesthetic Surgery\u201d at the prestigious <\/span>Melbourne Institute of Plastic Surgery<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>

Dr. Stavrou has extensive experience in breast reconstruction after breast cancer and cosmetic procedures following weight loss surgery. He is expertly using cutting-edge techniques for facelift, burn reconstruction and skin cancer surgery. He is cooperating with leading medical centers abroad as a visiting Plastic Surgeon. Since 2012, he has been an Assistant Professor at St George\u2019s, University of London, and at the Medical School of the University of Nicosia. He is also an Honorary Tutor at the University of Cardiff, School of Medicine in the UK, and a member of the European Board of Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery (EBOPRAS) and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS).<\/span><\/p>
